The Influence of Higher Education Background of Successful Entrepreneurs on Growth Time

以2018-2020年连续且同时进入《财富》世界500强排行榜和《福布斯》全球企业2000强排行榜前500强的247家企业首席执行官为样本数据,从学位层次、学科背景和毕业院校层次三个维度揭示全球顶尖成功创业人士高等教育背景的基本情况,重点探讨高等教育背景对其成长时间的影响。研究发现,高等教育学位层次对全球顶尖成功创业者平均成长时间具有显著性影响;高等教育学科背景对全球顶尖成功创业者平均成长时间的影响较复杂;高等教育毕业院校层次对全球顶尖成功创业者平均成长时间的影响并不显著,但世界一流大学和知名大学对全球顶尖成功创业者的培养发挥重要作用。提升研究生创新创业教育培养力度、设置含商学知识在内的多元知识结构的创新创业课程体系、加强世界一流大学和一流学科的培育和建设力度,或许是我国高校创新创业教育发展的新思路和方向。

Based on the data of 247 CEOs who has been listed in Fortune Global 500 and top 500 in Forbes Global 2000 for the past three years(2018-2020),this paper reveals the basic situation of the higher education background of the world’s top successful entrepreneurs from three dimensions:degree level,discipline background and graduate school level,and focuses on the influence of higher education background on growth time.It is found that the degree level of higher education has a significant impact on the growth time of successful entrepreneurs;the discipline background of higher education has complex characteristics on the growth time of successful entrepreneurs;the level of graduate school does not significantly affect the growth time of successful entrepreneurs,but world-class universities and well-known universities play an important role in the cultivation of successful entrepreneurs.It may be a new idea and direction for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in colleges and universities in China to enhance the cultivation of graduate students’innovation and entrepreneurship education,set up the innovation and entrepreneurship curriculum system with multiple knowledge structures including business disciplines,and strengthen the cultivation and construction of world-class universities and first-class disciplines.
