By summarizing the main achievements,current critical technology and quaUty problems in foundry sector of rail transport industry,this paper sets forth the main direction of foundry development in rail transport industry during the u 14th Five-Year Plann period.Casting manufacturers in rail transit sector should adhere to the innovation-driven development,strengthen the development and application of new materials,new techniques and new technology,and build up advanced manufacturing platform with the quality concept for high speed railway,so as to realize sustainable green casting development by means of high technology,high quality,high efficiency,low energy,low pollution and low emission on the basis of digitalization,intelligentization and weight reduction.
