Depressive cognitive dysfunction is a cognitive symptom closely related to depression itself and is the most important type of cognitive symptoms. It runs through the onset, acute and remission stages of depression, and is one of the core symptoms of depression. During the acute episode of depression, the depressive cognition of patients is relatively common, which can be independent of emotional symptoms or physical symptoms. The depressive cognition of some patients will be reduced with the relief of emotional symptoms. The rehabilitation of depressive cognitive function is the ultimate goal of depression treatment. Calmodulin dependent kinases regulate synaptic plasticity and are closely related to the improvement of depressive cognitive impairment. This paper reviews the regulatory effect and mechanism of calmodulin dependent kinase Ⅱ/Ⅳ on depressive cognitive impairment.
