Li Yanmin’s experience in treating knee osteoarthritis

膝骨关节炎(KOA)临床患病率日渐增长,严重影响中老年人生活质量,加重我国医疗卫生社会和经济负担。李彦民博采中西医之所长,潜心中医药治疗筋骨痛症研究,形成了独特的学术思想。李彦民认为KOA的病机关键是“肝脾肾亏虚为本,痰壅血瘀、外感风寒湿邪为标”,治以“补益肝脾肾,化痰祛瘀,通络除湿”。李彦民认为KOA之临床用药应取象比类,以藤入络,配合虫类药、辛香通络之药,以达攻坚除顽,温经除痹之效。临床常以经验方膝乌汤配合外敷方“舒筋活络洗剂”,内外兼治,达到宣痹止痛之效。

The clinical prevalence of knee osteoarthritis(KOA)is increasing day by day,which seriously affects the quality of life of middle-aged and elderly people,aggravates social and economic burden of health care in China.Li Yanmin drew on the strengths of traditional Chinese and western medicine,devoted to treatment of muscle and bone pain with traditional Chinese medicine,and formed unique academic thought.Li Yanmin believed that the key pathogenesis of KOA was“deficiency of liver,spleen and kidney as the root,phlegm obstructing blood stasis,exogenous wind,cold and dampness as the standard”,and the treatment should be Buyi Ganpishen,Huatan Quyu,Tongluo Chushi.Li Yanmin believed that the clinical use of KOA should be based on the analogy,with rattan into the collaterals,with insect drugs,spices to smooth the collaterals,achieve effect of eliminating stubborn and warming meridian and eliminating arthralgia.Experienced prescription Xiwu prescription and external prescription Shujin Huoluo Xiji were used to treat both inside and outside to achieve effect of Xuanbi Zhitong.
