Vascular calcification is the pathological basis of the occurrence and development of cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease.Hyperphosphatemia is the most important risk factor for vascular calcification in patients with chronic kidney disease. It has been found that under high phosphorus conditions, microRNA(miRNA)plays a role in regulating vascular calcification by negatively regulating the expression of target cells after transcription to promote or inhibit calcification factors. Therefore, identifying the abnormal production of miRNA under hyperphosphatemia is helpful to identify epigenetic changes, which can be used as a target for the prevention and treatment of hyperphosphatemia induced vascular calcification. In this review,miRNA and their mechanisms related to high phosphate induced vascular calcification are reviewed.
