《习近平谈治国理政》概念隐喻英译研究——以“人类命运共同体”专题为例

Translation of Conceptual Metaphors in Xi Jinping:The Governance of China-Taking the Topic“A Community of Shared Future”as an Example

以《习近平谈治国理政》中英文本为例,择取“人类命运共同体”专题,梳理其中隐喻模式、探讨隐喻框架的政治意涵,并分析隐喻英译及其交际功能。研究发现:专题中的隐喻模式“复杂多样、主线明晰”,9个主题框架隐喻模式各有侧重;专题以高频的“建筑隐喻-道路隐喻”、辅以“集体隐喻-拟人隐喻”模式构成文本隐喻框架;隐喻英译时以保留源语意象为重,源语与目标语隐喻框架模式基本一致,隐喻政治功能实现充分发挥。

Taking the topic“a community of shared future”in Xi Jinping:The Governance of China as an example,this paper discusses the types of metaphors,their political implications,and their English translation and communicative functions.The results show that the metaphors,underpinned by nine topics centering on different aspects,are well united in theme in spite of their complexity and diversity;architectural metaphors&road metaphors serve as the main framework,supplemented by collective metaphors&personification metaphors to transmit the semantic content;to translate them into English,metaphoric images in Chinese culture should be preserved,basic consistency in metaphorical framework between Chinese and English language should be retained,and the political function of the metaphors should be fully ensured.
