视频口译研究(1976—2021):回顾与展望

A RESEARCH ON VIDEO MEDIATED INTERPRETING(1976—2021):REVIEW AND PROSPECTS

近年来,随着技术进步和社会发展,视频口译实践体量大幅提升,为视频口译研究带来新的机遇。在此背景下,尚缺乏系统梳理海内外视频口译的学术研究。基于1976年至2021年海内外视频口译的研究成果,回顾视频口译发展历程,从研究主题、研究视角、研究方法与研究场景等方面展开,根据视频口译研究中存在的视频口译分类不完善、定量研究方法运用较少、研究数据量偏小等问题提出了一些思考和展望,以期引起更多学者对视频口译的重视,进一步助力我国视频口译发展,对我国视频口译教学和人才培养提供参考和借鉴。

Technological advancement and social progress in recent years have enabled more video-mediated interpreting(VMI)practices,bringing new chances for VMI studies.However,there is a lack of systemic review of previous VMI studies.How video-mediated interpreting has come today has been reviewed based on VMI studies from 1976 to 2021 in both home and abroad.It is found that both Chinese and overseas literature have witnessed an obvious increase in total amount with the amount of the former is larger than that of the later.Nevertheless,more overseas literature has been published in journals with greater influence.It is also found that the main topics are the feasibility of VMI,VMI interpreter training,VMI communication management,interpreter ethics,and both Chinese and overseas literature has yielded similar conclusion with different research perspectives and research methods.Moreover,most literature,no matter Chinese or overseas,has focused on video-mediated interpreting in both conference and community scenes with the later becoming the main one.Comparison has been made to Chinese and overseas literature from the perspectives of research topics,research perspectives,research methods and research scenes.Lastly,it is indicated that some problems have existed in the current research,i.e.,uncompleted classification of VMI activities,a lack of quantitative research methods,limited data.Suggestions have been proposed accordingly,and it is hoped that more attention can be drawn from scholars of translation studies and reference can be offered to VMI training and VMI talents cultivation.
