A Well-established Bank Full of Stories

2007年9月,在烟台市朝阳街改造过程中,福顺德银号旧址的门楣上露出一块匾额,随着工人们一点一点小心地铲去上面涂抹的石灰,“福顺德”三个大字渐渐显露出来。这座老银号里渐为尘封的往事,也随之重现世人眼前。以信遍天下“福顺德”的创始人为梁善堂。清朝末年,在俄国海参崴有很多华人劳工,其中很多是闯关东过去的胶东人,梁善堂便是其中之一。头脑灵活的梁善堂很快在做工时发现了商机:当地适合劳动者穿着的衣服种类少且昂贵,于是他便开始往返于胶东与海参崴之间,贩卖估衣。

The founder of“Fushunde”is Liang Shantang.In the late Qing Dy-nasty,Mr.Liang Shantang organized several friends and relatives to raise money and set up Fushunde in the middle of South Street,Yantai City in 1900,which also operated as an inn.Fushunde has been trusted by remitters for decades.In 1930,a mag-nificent new business building was built in Chaoyang Street,Yantai city.
