Revolutionary Ballads: Literary Discourse for Cultivating a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation

湘鄂西、湘鄂川黔革命根据地的革命歌谣是中国共产党人宣传革命、进行斗争的武器,反映了人民群众争取民主自由、公正平等、共同富裕的共同体生活。革命歌谣包含的“正义”与“善”彰显中国共产党与各族人民价值共识的信仰力量。根据地的革命歌谣运动始终以各族人民为主体,积极运用传统民间歌谣及中华民族共同体意识资源,开创民间文艺大众化的新局面。革命歌谣继承民间歌谣通俗易懂、晓畅明了、朗朗上口的传统特质,将革命生活融入其中,将马克思主义的信仰和理念融入其中,实现革命歌谣服务人民、服务革命斗争、服务共同奋斗目标。革命歌谣承载中国共产党的政治思想,体现求得中华民族解放和人类解放的理想,在革命斗争中培育、滋养和铸牢中华民族共同体意识。

The revolutionary ballads of the Western Hunan-Hubei and Hunan-Hubei-Sichan-Guizhou revolutionary bases were the weapons of the CPC members to propagate the revolution and carry out the struggles. These ballads reflected the people’ s struggle for democracy and freedom, justice and equality, and common prosperity. The “justice” and “goodness” contained in these revolutionary ballads manifested the power of belief in the value consensus between the CPC and the people of all ethnic groups. The Revolutionary Ballads Movement in these bases took the people of all ethnic groups as the main body, and actively used the resources of traditional folk songs and sense of community for the Chinese nation to create a new situation of popularization of folk literature and art. The revolutionary ballads inherited the traditional folk songs which were easy to understand, clear and catchy, and incorporated revolutionary life and Marxist beliefs and concepts into them. The revolutionary ballads thus server the people, the revolutionary struggle and the realization of common goals. They embodies the political ideas of the CPC, the pursuit of the liberation of the Chinese nation and the liberation of the mankind, and cultivated, nourished and strengthened the sense of community for the Chinese nation in the revolutionary struggle.
