Several Discriminations about Gu Jiegang′s Concept on Ancient History

顾颉刚的古史观念,近百年来遭受了多方面的批评,从最初攻击他“抹杀”古史,到指责他不懂考古学、社会科学,“只有破坏,没有建设”等,批评视角不断变动。实际上,顾颉刚治学有他个人的旨趣,对伪古史的“破坏”,正是为建设可信古史做扫除工作,他本人也从未放弃对治史求真的追求。至于研究中运用“默证法”,顾氏本人早就作出过答辩。

Gu Jiegang′s concept of ancient history has been criticized from many quarters in the past hundred years.The perspec⁃tive of criticism has constantly changed from initially attacking him for"erasing"ancient history,to accusing him of not understand⁃ing archaeology and social sciences,and"only destruction,no construction",etc.In fact,Gu Jiegang has his personal interest in learning,and the"destruction"of pseudo-ancient history is precisely to sweep away the construction of credible ancient history.He himself has never given up his pursuit of seeking truth in history.Gu himself has long defended the"tacit method"used in his re⁃search.
