The Second Boer War between Britain and Transvaal Republic and Orange State caused fierce debates in American pub⁃lic and media,which reflected the splits in different interests of ethnic groups of U.S.and what kind of role America should play in the world.The mood of pro-Boers was very high for various reasons.However,at national decision-making level,Anglo-American relations dominated William Mckinley and Theodore Roosevelt′s policy,the two governments insisted neutrality policy which in fact was in favor of Britain.
