The New Missions of Universities from the Perspective of Social Contract--An Analysis Based on the Report Reimagining Our Futures Together

摘要 2021年联合国教科文组织发布《一起重新构想我们的未来:为教育打造新的社会契约》报告,为探讨社会契约视角下大学的新使命提供了契机。大学的“社会契约”是大学与社会之间关于大学使命达成的默示协议,具有规约性、变动性和协作性。大学“新社会契约”面临从人文主义到超越人类中心主义的价值转向,大学的新使命表现为:在重构人与人的关系方面,大学要致力于维护共同利益,促进知识共享、跨学科共融和多主体共生;在重塑人与地球的关系方面,大学要致力于推动生态正义,树立生态意识、设置生态课程、构建生态关系;在重建人与技术的关系方面,大学要致力于促进研究创新,缓解教育不平等,提升学习者数字能力,引导技术创新。 In 2021,UNESCO released the report Reimagining Our Futures Together:A New Social Contract for Education,which provided an opportunity to discuss the new missions of universities from the perspective of the social contract.The"social contract"of universities is an implied agreement between the university and the society on the missions of the university,which is prescriptive,changeable and cooperative.The"new social contract"of universities is facing a value shift from humanism to transcending anthropocentrism.The new mis⁃sions of universities are as follows:on the reconstruction of interpersonal relations,universities should be com⁃mitted to maintaining common goods,promoting knowledge commons,interdisciplinary integration and multiparticipant symbiosis;on the reconstruction of the relationship between human and earth,universities should devote themselves to promoting ecological justice,establishing ecological consciousness,setting up ecological courses and constructing ecological relations;on the reconstruction of the relationship between people and tech⁃nology,universities should be committed to promoting research and innovation,alleviating educational inequali⁃ty,enhancing learners'digital abilities,and guiding technological innovation.
