基于民族期刊论文题名英译现状的人机翻译——以《中央民族大学学报(社会科学版)》为例

Human-Computer Interactive Translation Based on the Present Situation of English Translation of Academic Papers’ Titles of Ethnic Periodicals——Take Journal of Minzu University of China( Social Science Edition) as an Example

优质的题名翻译有助于论文被同行或检索机构正确查找、分类、标引及收录。以2021—2022年《中央民族大学学报(社会科学版)》发表的212篇民族论文为例,分析民族期刊论文题名的英译现状,并按照国外期刊收录国内期刊时对英文题名的修改原则,改正了错误,建立了记忆库。通过中国网、中国日报网等找到民族研究双语材料,建立中英平行术语库。通过计算机辅助工具MemoQ翻译2022年《中央民族大学学报》17篇论文题名,以测试计算机辅助翻译的效率和正确率。研究发现,《中央民族大学学报》英文题名总体质量高,但也普遍存在滥用“Study on”“Research on”以及冠词等现象。与传统的人工翻译或单纯的机器翻译相比,如果译者具有较高的英语水平,了解民族专业知识,借助计算机辅助翻译工具,就能优质高效地做好民族论文题名翻译工作。

High-quality title translation is helpful for academic papers to be correctly searched,classified,indexed and included by peers or retrieval institutions.Taking 212 ethnic papers published in Journal of Minzu University of China(Social Science Edition) from 2021 to 2022 as examples,this paper analyzes the current situation of English translation of titles in ethnic journals,corrects mistakes and establishes a memory bank according to the revision principles of English titles of foreign journals when including domestic journals.Then this paper finds bilingual materials of ethnic studies through websites such as China.com.cn and chinadaily.com.cn,and establishes a Chinese-English parallel TB.The titles of 17 papers in Journal of Minzu University of China in 2022 were translated by computer-aided tool MemoQ to test the efficiency and accuracy of CAT.It is found that the English titles of Journal of Minzu University of China are of high-quality,but there are also some phenomena such as the abuse of “Study on”,“Research on” and articles.Compared with traditional manual translation or all machine translation,if a translator has a high level of English,understands ethnic professional knowledge and knows how to use CAT tools,he or she can do a good job in title translation of ethnic papers with high quality and efficiency.
