The Theoretical Foundations and Practical Path of the Marxist Mass View on Guiding Cultural Innovation

文化是中国特色社会事业总体布局中的一维,“文化创新是国家治理现代化的内驱力”(1)。党的十八大以来,习近平总书记从马克思主义基本原理同中华优秀传统文化相结合的方式上推动了文化创新,既丰富和发展了当代中国马克思主义,也凸显了马克思主义对文化创新的重要指导作用。马克思主义群众观蕴含着丰富的真理性、鲜明的人民性和开放的时代性等品格特征,在当代中国得到了坚持和发展,充分彰显了马克思主义的强大生命力。马克思主义群众观的品格特征与中华优秀传统文化相互契合,为文化创新提供了深厚思想基础和行动指引。同时,文化创新需要通过制度保证、历史主动、礼敬之心和包容胸怀,更好地坚持和发展马克思主义群众观。

Culture is one dimension of the overall layout of social undertakings with Chinese characteristics,and“cultural innovation is the internal driving force for the modernization of national governance”. Since the 18th CPC National Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping has promoted cultural innovation by adapting the basic tenets of Marxism to China’s fine traditional culture,thus having not only enriched and developed contemporary Chinese Marxism,but also highlighted the important guiding role of Marxism in cultural innovation. The Marxist mass view,characterized by rich truths,distinct people-oriented nature,and the openness of the times,has been adhered to and developed in contemporary China,thereby fully demonstrating the strong vitality of Marxism. The quality and features of the Marxist mass view and fine traditional Chinese culture are mutually compatible,which provides a profound ideological foundation and action guidance for cultural innovation. At the same time,efforts must be made to promote cultural innovation through institutional guarantee,historical initiative,respect and inclusiveness so as to better adhere to and develop the Marxist mass view.
