中国科学院天津工业生物技术研究所建所10周年专刊序言

Preface to the special issue on the 10th anniversary of Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology,Chinese Academy of Sciences

工业生物技术是实现绿色低碳与可持续发展的重要路径。十年前正式成立的中国科学院天津工业生物技术研究所是该领域的核心科技力量,形成了从生命科学基础研究到生物技术工业应用的科技创新链。在研究所成立10周年之际,本刊特组织出版专刊,结合研究所的10年发展,从院士专家评述、发展规划研究、前沿基础研究、底层技术开发、核心技术创新、产业培育推进6个方面,系统地梳理和凝练工业生物技术的发展状况,展望未来的发展趋势,为助力我国加快构建绿色低碳循环经济体系,推动生物经济高质量发展提供参考。

Industrial biotechnology offers great promises to the development of a green,low-carbon and sustainable economy.The Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,which was formally established ten years ago,is an important powerhouse in the field of industrial biotechnology.To date,the Institute has developed a scientific and technological innovation chain,covering from basic research in life sciences to industrial application of biotechnology.On the occasion of the Institute’s tenth anniversary,we publish this special issue to review the progress and trends of industrial biotechnology from six aspects,namely expert perspectives,development strategy,cutting-edge research,enabling technology,core technology innovation,and industrialization promotion.This will facilitate the construction of a green and low-carbon circular economy system,and promote the high-quality development of bioeconomy.
