知识转型与组织应对:文科见长大学改进发展研究——以耶鲁大学为例

Yale University’s Institutional Transformation in Response to a New Mode of Knowledge Production:Implications for Building Top Arts and Humanities Universities in China

知识转型要求大学组织变革。高等教育系统是学科知识和组织机构交叉形成的矩阵结构,大学改进以知识转型为中心,带动大学学科布局调整与组织变革,表现为知识转型与组织应对逻辑:学科知识边界由清晰转向模糊,大学组织结构呈现跨学科、综合化趋势;知识评价标准由单一转向弥散,大学组织目标呈现需求导向的应用性发展趋势;知识生产方式由传统转向现代,大学组织行动呈现信息化、智能化发展趋势;知识流动范围由本土转向世界,大学组织使命呈现民族化与国际化并存格局。耶鲁大学近年来在学科布局调整与组织改进变革方面的实践探索很好地体现了世界一流文科见长大学的发展趋势,为构建中国特色哲学社会科学、建设中国特色世界一流文科见长大学提供了经验借鉴。

Nowadays,the advent of a new mode of knowledge production has made it imperative for universities,the principal knowledge producers,to adapt to changing circumstances.Unlike the traditional mode of knowledge production,in our increasingly globalized and digitalized world,knowledge is often produced in the context of its application via transdisciplinary research and cross-sector collaboration.In response to these new challenges,Yale university,a world-class university for arts and humanities,has implemented academic reorganization and institutional adaptation so as to improve its knowledge productivity,local responsiveness as well as global competitiveness.Yale’s experience also has implications for building top arts and humanities universities in China.
