译者惯习视角下的关大卫“熊猫丛书”英译探究--以小说《黑的雪》的英译为例

A Study of David Kwan’s Translation of“Panda Books”from the Perspective of Translator’s Habitus:With Special Reference to Kwan’s Translation of Black Snow

“熊猫丛书”代表着20世纪后半叶我国为对外宣传中国文学所做出的最大努力。本文从译者惯习角度,以“熊猫丛书”小说中加拿大汉学家关大卫的《黑的雪》译本为例,着重分析关大卫的个人惯习对其翻译选材及文本风格所产生的影响。本文认为,关大卫偏离当时的主流翻译规范的背后原因可从其个人惯习中获得充分解释。本文丰富了“熊猫丛书”译家研究,有助于进一步推动中国文学“走出去”。

“Panda Books”represented the biggest efforts on the part of Chinese state agency to publicize Chinese literature in the second half of the twentieth century.Drawing on translator’s habitus,this paper explores the English translation of Black Snow,one of“Panda Books”,by David Kwan,and analyzes the influence of Kwan’s personal habitus on his selection of translated texts and his translation style.It is held that Kwan’s deviation from translation norms can be approached via his personal habitus.The paper deepens research into“Panda Books”translators and provides insights into Chinese literature“going global”.
