An Interview with Professor Luo Yimin:Studies from Shakespeare to Topology

罗益民教授问学北大,再学西南,分获文学、哲学两个博士学位,在两个学科领域筚路蓝缕,辛勤耕耘,孜孜以求,在英美文学、莎士比亚、文学理论、词典学、翻译学以及教学、美学理论等方面都卓有建树。本次访谈被访专家罗益民教授回答了莎士比亚研究、拓扑学研究、翻译学、词典学等若干方面的问题,归类如下:1)在莎士比亚研究等方面的“立言”之论;2)文学拓扑学研究开拓出新的学科构建;3)英汉词典学静水流深的贡献;4)等效天平上的翻译研究;5)莎士比亚教育教学和普及化的名家贡献。

Professor Luo studied at Peking University,and later furthered his studies at Southwest University,harvesting his two doctorate degrees in Literature and Philosophy,respectively.He worked in both academic areas through hard work,and became an established scholar in British and American Literature,Shakespeare Studies,Literary theory,Lexicography,Translation Studies and Aesthetics.This present paper is the recorded notes revised from an academic interview with Professor Luo,in which he responded to questions in five aspects:1)theories and findings found in Shakespeare studies;2)exploration in Topology;3)his contribution to lexicography;4)his translation studies based on equivalence scale;5)his teaching and popularization work of culture.
