王大同-一個傳統寫實主義的油晝家

WANG DATONG-AN OIL PAINTER IN THE REALIST TRADITION

王大同(生於1937年)是一位寫實主義的油畫家,他取得如此水平的傑出成就,堪稱繪畫藝術大師。在毛澤東時代(1949--1976)王大同受到了社會主義現實主義的薰陶。自1949年中華人民共和國成立以來,社會主義現實主義的藝術風格一直爲官方所提倡。王大同在四川美術學院就讀時是一個優秀的學生,他畢業後得到了令人羡慕的留校任教的職位。不久因他掌握精到的技巧表現理想主義的主題而顯示才華。他的樂觀主義精神充溢於他的史詩般的畫面。

Wang Datong(b.1937)is an oil painter in the realist tradition who has reached such a remarkable level of accomplishment that he can be called a master of the medium.In China during the Mao Years(1949-1976)Wang learned well the art of oil pain ting.He was thoroughly schooled in socialist realism,the style that became the official style when the People's Republic of China was established in 1949.Wang was such a good student in the oil pain ting department of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts that he won a coveted place on the faculty when he graduated.He showed his ablities through a combi nation of his brushwork and his idealized subjects.His optimism was expressed in his heroic compositions.
