元末宣文阁书家周伯琦江南文化活动考略

A Brief Study on Cultural Activities of Zhou Boqi, a Calligrapher of Xuanwen Pavilion in the Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River in the Late Yuan Dynasty

周伯琦是元末著名馆臣和书法家,曾任宣文阁鉴书博士,书名盛极一时。周伯琦流寓吴中时期,广泛参与吴中诗歌唱酬、书画题跋等文艺雅集活动,积极发挥馆阁书家的影响力。在吴、松、杭地区,他频繁为地方文士书题匾额,为官府书碑题字,其书艺颇受江南士人推崇。同时,周伯琦藉借书学活动引领了元末江南复古书风。

As a famous compiling official and calligrapher in the late Yuan Dynasty, Zhou Boqi ever held the post of scholar in Xuanwen Pavilion with high reputation in Calligraphy.When living in the area of Wu State(a state during the Spring and Autumn Period),he often participated in literati gatherings involving poetry singing, calligraphy and painting inscriptions, and actively exerted his influence as a calligrapher of the Pavilion.In Suzhou, Songjiang and Hangzhou, he frequently wrote horizontal inscribed boards for local men of letters and tablet inscriptions for local governments, and his calligraphy was highly respected by the scholars in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.At the same time, Zhou Boqi steered the retro style of calligraphy in this area via calligraphy activities in the late Yuan Dynasty.
