数字经济能够提升美好生活水平吗

Does the Development of Digital Economy Improve the Level of a Better Life?

本文在理论分析基础上从生活富裕、生活便利、绿色健康、生活文明、和谐共享五个维度测度了区域美好生活水平,利用2014—2019年省际面板数据建立回归模型,通过固定效应模型和中介效应模型考察了数字经济发展赋能美好生活的影响效应及其作用机制。实证检验结果表明:数字经济的发展能够显著提升美好生活水平。其中,数字经济推动经济高质量发展和提升居民消费水平是其提升美好生活水平的重要机制。数字经济的发展对区域美好生活水平的提升表现出地区差异性,在东部地区和西部地区,数字经济发展能够显著提升美好生活水平,但对中部地区的作用并不显著。此外,随着美好生活水平的提升,数字经济提升美好生活水平的作用逐渐减小。

On the basis of theoretical analysis, the regional level of “a better life” is measured from five dimensions, namely wealthy life, convenient life, green health, civilized life, and harmonious sharing. The regression model is established by using the provincial panel data from 2014 to 2019. The fixed effect model and mediating effect model examine the impact and mechanism of digital economic development in enabling a better life. The empirical test results show that the development of the digital economy can significantly improve the level of a better life. The promotion of high-quality economic development and the improvement of residents’ consumption level are important mechanisms for the digital economy to boost the better life. The development of the digital economy has shown the characteristic of regional differences in the improvement of the regional better life, and in the eastern and western regions, the development of the digital economy can significantly improve the regional better life, but in the central the effect is not significant. In addition, with the improvement of a better life, the role of the digital economy in improving living standards has gradually diminished.
