Obesity and depression are common conditions with major public health implications, and both of them show changes in intestinal microbiota.Short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)are a category of metabolites of intestinal microbiota, which play an important role in regulating barrier immunological function and intestinal endocrine, and stimulating vague nerve. The present review specifically focuses on the comorbidity of obesity and depression from the perspective of intestinal microbiota-SCFA axis,in order to provide new ideas for clinical research.
