Textual Research on Wu Zhao’s Family Extraction, Life Story and Trackway in the Qianjia Era

吴照,江西南城人,乾嘉时期文人,诗书画号称三绝。乾嘉时代的文人具有强烈的地域性,吴照的人生经历是临川文人的一个缩影,在吴照五十多年的人生旅程中,其仕途虽不通达,却踏遍吴楚名山胜水,以诗书画交游酬唱,一时名公卿竞相倾倒。考证吴照的家世生平将为研究临川地域文化与彼时乾嘉文人的人生选择提供新的资料。

Wu Zhao, a native of Nancheng, Jiangxi Province, was a literatus in the Qianjia period. He was known as the three wonders in poetry, calligraphy and painting. The literati in the Qianjia era had a strong regional character. Wu Zhao’s life experience was a microcosm of Linchuan literati. Although in Wu Zhao’s more than 50 years of life, his official career was not accessible, he stepped all over the famous mountains and rivers of Wu and Chu states, paid for traveling with poetry, calligraphy and painting, which was admired by many famous people for a while. Examining Wu Zhao’s family life will provide new materials for the study of Linchuan’s regional culture and the life choices of Qianjia literati at that time.
