after the failure of the Great Revolution in 1927, the Chinese Communist Party launched Nanchang Uprising which shocked the world, and started the first shot of armed resistance to the Kuomintang reactionaries, marking the Party began to independently lead the Chinese revolutionary war and create a new type of people’s army. It realized the turning point to the agrarian revolution and opened a new era of the Chinese revolution. The great revolutionary practice inevitably produced the great revolutionary spirit and cast the brilliant revolutionary culture. In the army-building of the Communist Party of China, which began with Nanchang Uprising, a new type of people’s army, completely different from the old army, took shape. It developed the spirit of army building, in which the Party’s absolute leadership of the army is integrated with the purpose of the people’s army. The armybuilding spirit of the CPC originated from the great spirit of the CPC building. After Nanchang Uprising, Sanwan Adaptation and Gutian Conference, the formed army-building spirit was to obey the command of the Party and be loyal to the Party. It is an indispensable part and spiritual coordinate of the spiritual spectrum of Communists. Guided by the spirit of Xi Jinping’s important speech on the Party and army-building, we explore the historical contribution of Nanchang Uprising in the failure of the Great Revolution to the agrarian revolution, and clarify the relationship between Nanchang Uprising and the formation of the army-building spirit, which is the basis of scientifically defining the connotation and characteristics of the army-building spirit.
