The Making of A Microsurgeon Medical Student I entered Columbia University,College of Physicians and Surgeons,in the Class of 1969.As a first year student,I wanted to be a Pediatric Neurologist,but quickly realized that this was a very depressing specialty.I then had to decide between Medicine and Surgery.I felt that Medicine was basically treating chronic problems and that there were very few cures.Within Surgery,I slowly became interested in Plastic Surgery,because of its creative aspects.
