Developing a New Style:On Mr.Niu Kecheng’s Landscape Paintings

牛克诚先生既是一位历史学者,又是一位艺术家。他打通学科围墙,如鱼得水般地在理性与感性、继承与创造的双重变奏中实践人生的探索与追求。他长期专注于中国绘画色彩学,对其展开系统化的理论研究,并将研究心得运用于创作实践。在其自创理论的影响下,通过临古,慢慢从程式中找到规律;通过写生,渐趋实现对山川景象的内化;通过创作实践,逐步形成五色交融、格调高古、云山互答、诗意盎然的艺术风格。其理论与实践的融汇必然生发为情理交融的艺术。

Mr.Niu Kecheng,a historian and artist,has shattered barriers of disciplines and explored and pursued art in sense and sensibility,as well as in carrying forward traditions and creating new ways.He has long dedicated himself to systematic research into the chromatics of the Chinese painting and to the application of research results to his paintings.Under the influence of his own theories,he has discovered rules by copying traditional paintings,kept landscape in his mind by sketching and,by practicing,developed his own style of creating poetic,high-taste landscape paintings with multiple colors.His efforts to put theories into practice has given birth to a kind of art that integrates feelings and techniques.
