The symbols of the earth and thunder form Fu, the 24 th hexagram in the Zhou Yi or Book of Changes. The hexagram seems to depict the scenery of vigorous spring. It symbolizes the return of life energy and is a manifestation of benevolence of heaven and earth. Pondering over the implications of the Fu hexagram’s image and its hexagram and linear judgments, we can gain important enlightening ideas for the founding of the Chinese School of Translation Studies(CSTS):(1) Return to the right way, the Dao of translation studies;(2) Know the springs and changes of things, and take action timely;(3) Establish harmonious and amicable relations with others;(4) Begin well and end well. The opportunity to found the CSTS knocks. Keeping the enlightening ideas in mind and devoting to constructing translation theories, the CSTS will have creativity and achieve great successes.
