An Unwelcomed Guestwrites about how the place of Palestine carries completely different religious beliefs, cultural traditions and identities in the memories of Arabs and Jews.Based on the analysis of the contradiction between the traumatic memories of Arab refugees and the narratives of Jewish revival, this paper explores the relationship between spatial production and collective memory as well as the tension between personal uncanny memory and public memory narratives, provides a cultural and psychological interpretation of the conflict between the two,and probes into the possibility of recovery from trauma.
