PTG。 Objective:To explore the relationship among empathy, cancer recurrence fear(FCR),post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)and post-traumatic growth(PTG)in inpatients with cancer. Methods:The Chinese version of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index(C-IRI),Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory(FCRI),Posttraumatic Growth Questionnaire and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist of DSM-5(PCL-5)were used to investigate 199 hospitalized patients with cancer. Results:For inpatients with cancer, empathy positively predicted PTSD and PTG,playing a“double-edged sword”.Furthermore,FCR was an important mediator between empathy and PTSD,and between empathy and PTG.Conclusion:Empathy not only directly affects PTSD and PTG in cancer patients, but also indirectly affects PTSD and PTG through FCR.
