Since 2021,China has picked up the speed of new-type infrastructure construction and the development of key core technologies,driving media convergence toward "development in depth",a direction set by the country’s top-level design.The popularity of Metaverse and related concepts,and the flourishing of emerging business forms have created a new landscape for future media.At the same time,the Internet has entered an era of strengthened regulation,with equal attention paid to regulation and development of future media.The development of future media will face a significantly more instable and uncertain world plagued by diminishing dividends of the size of Internet users,the ageing population,the increasingly complex international environment,extensive lingering impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic downturn.As the new-generation information technology is integrated with more aspects of human life,future media will become more digital and intelligent,blur the boundary between virtual and real,and feature co-governance.
