The Narrative Tradition and Cultural Connotation of the Zhuang Ethnic Group’s Brother-Sister Marriage Origin Myth in Central Guangxi

以广西壮族自治区中部来宾市的盘古兄妹婚神话与盘古庙活动为个案,聚焦桂中地区的壮族兄妹婚族源神话,探讨该神话的叙事母题、传承语境与文化内涵。经过长期的历史积淀,桂中一带的壮族兄妹婚族源神话已形成了较为固定的叙事模式:主角形象突出,情节高度程式化,以民间信仰仪式上的演述为主要形态,其特色的形成与地方政府对于多元文化的并举和推崇有紧密联系,因此对桂中盘古兄妹婚神话的探讨将有助于理解侗台语民族的深层文化本质。

Taking the Pangu brother-sister marriage myth and Pangu temple activities in Laibin city, central Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as a case, focusing on the myth of the origin of Zhuang ethnic group’s brother-sister marriage in central Guangxi, this paper discusses the narrative motif, inheritance context and cultural connotation of this myth. Through long-term historical accumulation, the myth of the origin of brother-sister marriage of Zhuang ethnic group in central Guangxi has formed a relatively fixed narrative mode: the leading role is prominent;the plot is highly stylized;the performance in folk belief ritual is the main form. The formation of its characteristics is closely related to the simultaneous promotion and admiration of the local government for multiculturalism. Therefore, the discussion of the myth of brother-sister marriage of Pangu in central Guangxi will help to understand the deep cultural essence of the Kam-Tai language nations.
