The article presents an overview of the "Symposium on Prof. TAN Xiangjin’s Academic Thought",demonstrating the important contributions that Prof. TAN has made to China’s librarianship from multiple angles.By compiling the reports and discussion delivered at the Symposium,the article sorts out Professor TAN’s personal experience and major deeds,reviews his contributions to Chinese librarianship,library modernization and library education,recalls the memories of and pays tribute to Professor TAN Xiangjin from the perspective of his students and colleagues.
