In a recent study published in Cell,Pan et al.reported how NK cell-based immunotherapy can be combined with BCL2 Homology Domain(BH)3 mimetics to increase tumor cell killing,thus highlighting a novel strategy for cancer immunotherapy.1Induc-tion of mitochondrial apoptosis is a multi-step procedure,and knowledge about the regulation of apoptosis may pave the way for new treatment approaches in immune-oncology.
