中医术语英译的原则与方法

在中国改革开放加入世贸组织之后,中国的文化也逐渐走向世界,为全球人民所接受和欢迎,其中,中国的医学也在西方国家流行开来。中医文化不仅内涵丰富,其中的名词和表达方式也极具中国特色。中医术语和文学作品的翻译在中医西传中起着举足轻重的作用。中医术语的英译应该秉承着传递医学信息,还原中医概念与文化的基本原则。相较于归化的翻译策略,中医术语翻译应该更倾向于异化,针对不同的中医术语采用不同的翻译方法。文章将对中医术语的原则与方法展开研究,希望为未来的中医术语翻译提供一定的参考,帮助中医更好地走向世界。

After China’s reform and opening up and accession to the WTO, Chinese culture has gradually gone global, accepted and welcomed by people all over the world, and among them, Chinese medicine has also become popular in Western countries. The culture of Chinese medicine is not only rich in connotations, but the terminology and expressions used in it are also very Chinese in character. The translation of the terminology and literature of Chinese medicine has a decisive role in the western transmission of Chinese medicine. The English translation of TCM terminology should adhere to the basic principles of conveying medical information and restoring the concepts and culture of TCM. Compared to the translation strategy of domestication, the translation of TCM terminology should be more inclined to foreignization, and different translation methods should be used for different TCM terms. In this paper, the principles and methods of TCM terminology will be studied in the hope of providing some reference for future TCM terminology translation and helping TCM to go global better.
