Education-Metaverse: A Vision of Digital Twin Universities

摘要 2021年被称作元宇宙元年,多家互联网公司宣布进军元宇宙,各行各业也同步开始探索元宇宙的实际应用模式。在教育领域,元宇宙与高等教育院校结合,具有广阔的应用前景。教育元宇宙从高校试点入手,以现代高校为物理基础,以教育资源为信息内容,以高校师生为主体用户,结合数字孪生、人工智能、区块链等技术在虚拟空间中构建一个永久在线、开放共享、可持续发展的教育平台——数字孪生高校。数字孪生高校是现代高校在虚拟空间中的映射,也是教学场域的进一步延伸与拓展。它将加快高校数字化转型,持续发扬学校培养人才、科学研究、服务社会和文化传承的基本职能。数字孪生高校的发展处于初级阶段,但随着后疫情时代人民对高质量远程学习需求的增加和国家政策性文件的指引,数字孪生高校势必将融合多种先进科学技术,让教育成为汇聚多方力量、引领社会发展的重要引擎,带领我们迈向更加美好的未来。 Year 2021 is called the Year of the Metaverse. Several Internet companies have announced their entry into Metaverse, and all walks of life have also started to explore the practical application modes of the Metaverse. In the field of education, metaverse has a broad application prospect when combined with higher education institutions. Starting from the pilot of universities, Education-Metaverse takes modern universities as the physical foundation, educational resources as the information content, and teachers and students as the main users, and combines technologies such as digital twin, artificial intelligence, and blockchain to build a permanent online sharing and sustainable education platform in the virtual space--digital twin universities. It is the mapping of modern universities in the virtual space, as well as the extending and expanding of teaching field, which will accelerate the digital transformation of universities and continue to carry forward universities’ basic functions of cultivating talents, conducting scientific research, serving society, and inheriting culture. The development of digital twin universities is in the primary stage, but with the increase in people’s demand for high-quality distance learning in the post-epidemic era and with the guidance of national policy documents, the digital twin universities are bound to integrate a variety of advanced science and technology, so as to make education an important engine for gathering forces and leading social development and lead us to a better future.
