摘要
《遗落的南境》是杰夫·范德米尔的新怪谭代表作之一。小说运用恐怖元素,挖掘人物心理,深刻地呈现了当代生态环境恶化背景下人与自然的关系。小说蕴含生态恐怖叙事主题,呈现无意识的X区域对人类世界的渗透,刻画人类与之作斗争与两者最终的融合,渲染人类对于生态危机的忧惧与恐慌,从而揭示范德米尔对人与自然和谐发展的期望。
The Southern Reach Trilogy is one of the masterpieces of Jeff VanderMeer’s new-weird fiction,whose rendering of the horror atmosphere and the inner self clearly presented the human-nature relations in the deteriorating natural environment.The ecological horror narrative features in The Southern Reach Trilogy are analyzed to reveal the infiltration of the unconscious Area X,the resistance of human world,the final merging of the two,man’s insecurity and its fear caused by ecological crisis,and finally,VanderMeer’s outlook of the harmonious relations between human being and nature.
