Influence of Electronic Line Calling replacing Line Umpires in Tennis Grand Slam Events

“电子线审”系统作为“鹰眼”即时回放系统的升级科技,在网球大满贯赛事中已正式启用,其对运动员、观众及裁判员产生的影响有必要及时跟踪研究。本文采用文献资料法、录像观察法、数理统计法、对比分析法等方法,通过对网球比赛录像中,运动员“鹰眼”挑战与电子线审判罚的实时回放进行统计分析,得出结论:(1)电子线审辅助执裁有利于运动员保持良好的竞技状态;(2)加快比赛节奏,提升观众的观赛效率;(3)提升比赛的公平性。建议:运动员应积极适应全新的比赛节奏,国内赛事应尽快采用电子线审自动判罚系统。

As the upgrading technology of the “Eagle Eye” real-time playback system, the “Electronic Line Calling(ELC)” system has been officially launched in tennis grand slam events. It is necessary to track its impact on athletes, spectators and referees in a timely manner. This paper adopts the methods of literature review, video observation, mathematical statistics, comparative analysis, conducting a statistical analysis of the real-time replay of the athletes’ “eagle eye” challenge and the “Electronic Line Calling(ELC)” system in the tennis competition videos, The conclusions are that the “Electronic Line Calling(ELC)” system is helpful for the athletes to maintain a good competitive state, to speed up the rhythm of the game and improve the efficiency of spectators, and to improve the fairness of the competition. It is suggested that athletes should adapt to the new competition rhythm as soon as possible, and other events should actively use the “Electronic Line Calling(ELC)” system.
