美国公共图书馆构建社区数字记忆的实践与启示——以纽约市皇后区公共图书馆“Queens Memory”项目为例

The Practice and Enlightenment of Building Community Digital Memory in American Public Libraries:A Case Study of the Queens Memory Project at Queens Public Library in New York City

文章利用网络调查法对纽约市皇后区公共图书馆的社区数字记忆项目“Queens Memory”进行调研。该项目通过个人、家庭、群体、社区等层面的特色活动构建社区数字记忆体系,取得了完善差异化馆藏建设、凝聚社区共识、减缓社会失忆等成效,具有鼓励社区公众参与、注重数字记忆资源利用共享、积极参与社区治理等实践经验。根据我国实际情况,指出我国公共图书馆可从多元主体参与、机制革新、服务延展、文化共融、尊重隐私等方面构建社区数字记忆。

This article investigates Queens Memory,a community digital memory project at the Queens Public Library in New York City by using a web-based survey method.The project has built a community digital memory system through special activities at the individual,family,group and community levels,and has achieved notable results in improving the construction of differentiated collections,building community consensus and mitigating social amnesia,and has gained practical experiences in encouraging public participation in the community,focusing on the use and sharing of digital memory resources,and actively participating in community governance.Based on the actual situation in China,it is pointed out that public libraries in China can build community digital memory from the aspects of participation of multiple subjects,mechanism innovation,service extension,cultural inclusion and respect for privacy.
