At the beginning of the 20th century,the decorative art movement was in full swing in the West,which also affected the Chinese dress culture of the same period,and had a profound impact on the cheongsam of the R epublic of China.The paper first analyzes the development,changes and characteristics of the decorative art movement and the Chinese cheongsam of the R epublic of China,and then through the analysis of the social factors that the decorative art movement affected the Chinese cheongsam of the R epublic of China,discusses the various changes that occurred in the Chinese cheongsam of the R epublic of China under the decorative art movement and the artistic language characteristics of its patterns.
