Point, line and surface are the three basic elements of graphic design. Line is not only the extension and expansion of point, but also the starting point of surface movement. In poster design, line elements are transformed into visual language through different forms of artistic expression, which determines the final effect of the work and even brings visual impact. Designers can show their personality and emotion through such works, and even guide the audience to follow the order of poster design through the connection of lines, so as to make the picture more complete. This paper will study the characteristics of linear elements and illustrate the application of linear elements in poster design.
