Hydropower plays an important role in the optimization and transformation of energy structure in China. Under the background of continuous promotion of electric reform policy, it is of great practical significance to explore the market participation mechanism of hydropower in spot market. Based on the market practice of Hydropower Participation at home and abroad, this paper makes a systematic summary and comparative analysis. Based on the latest relevant theoretical research on market participation mechanism of hydropower, the Enlightenment on construction and operation of power market in high proportion hydropower areas is obtained.
