Evolution and Challenges of Professional T&I Education—Experience and Implications from Hong Kong Universities

中国香港翻译专业教育起步较早,发展成熟。各高校开办的翻译专业课程特色鲜明,形成独特经验。然而,随着竞争日趋激烈和社会环境变化,香港地区的翻译专业教育目前也面临不少挑战。与此同时,我国内地翻译专业教育近年来增长速度和发展规模日益明显。回顾考察香港在翻译专业教育方面的沿革和特点,分析其经验与挑战,对内地翻译专业人才培养具有一定启示意义,有助于推动我国翻译专业教育的质量提升。

Professional T&I education took shape in Hong Kong quite early,and has reached maturity.With various higher learning institutions offering T&I programs with distinctive features,Hong Kong has accumulated unique experience in its T&I education.Yet along with ever increasingly fierce competitions and changing social context,professional T&I education in Hong Kong now faces many challenges.In recent years,professional T&I education on the Chinese mainland has grown rapidly and significantly.By reviewing the evolution and characteristics of Hong Kong’s professional T&I education,and analyzing its experience and challenges,one may draw lessons for professional T&I education to improve its quality.
