“You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals.To that end,each of us must work for our own improvement.”—Marie Curie,1903 and 1911 Nobel Prize Laureate Summer is in full swing,and much of the world,particularly the Northern Hemisphere,has experienced a heat wave with warmer-than-average temperatures.Some of these temperatures have been extreme,such as the staggering nearly 50°C temperatures that hit Canada’s British Columbia province in late June,a national record for the highest temperature.
