This paper systematically introduces the current situation, challenges, and future opportunities of real-world research on TCM. This paper analyzes the real-world research policies and directions at home and abroad, gives some suggestions for further development of TCM research, and discusses the standardization of TCM terminology, data processing, and selection of research methods.
