A Dream of Red Mansions is the pinnacle in the history of Chinese literature over the past thousands of years,with important cultural connotations and artistic values.With the rapid development of social economy and the all-round progress of science and technology,human aesthetics also change with the development of culture and show a variety of artistic aesthetic forms.This paper analyzes the color implications of traditional costumes in A Dream of Red Mansions on psychological emotions,space environment,color aesthetics and other aspects,discusses the color applications of traditional costumes in A Dream of Red Mansions in conjunction with contemporary color trends,studies the artistic expressions brought by colors in different application scenes,and looks into the color matching methods of traditional costumes in the work to gain a clear idea of the aesthetic expression of colors in the context of social and cultural evolution.
