At present,remarkable progresses have been made in the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer in China.Surgery accompanied with multiple disciplinary treatment strategy has promoted the standardization of diagnosis and treatment of this disease and improved the prognosis of patients.The development of surgery is not only the improvement of surgical techniques and innovations of surgical methods,but also the change of concepts,the application of clinical researches,and the implementation of multiple disciplinary treatment.This article introduces the current status and development of colorectal cancer surgery from the prospects of multiple disciplinary treatment strategies,new surgical concepts,development of surgical methods,and the application of radical surgery so as to orient the development of surgery and seek the welfare for the health of patients.
