The safety and economic mining of open pit coal mines is one of the key concerns of coal mining enterprises. Combined with the mining conditions of Hequ Open Pit Coal Mine, this paper analyzed some key problems and corresponding countermeasures in the mining process mainly from the aspects of slope stability, drainage, dust, coal seam spontaneous combustion and land reclamation,which can provide some guidance for the safe and efficient mining of Hequ Open Pit Coal Mine.
