Major Principles to Be Adhered in the Construction of a Modernized Socialist Country

党的二十大报告指出,推进中国式现代化、全面建设社会主义现代化国家必须牢牢把握“坚持和加强党的全面领导”“坚持中国特色社会主义道路”“坚持以人民为中心的发展思想”“坚持深化改革开放”“坚持发扬斗争精神”五项重大原则。“五大原则”是对中国式现代化“由谁领导”“走什么道路”“坚持什么立场”“活力来自哪里”“保持什么精神风貌”等基本问题的系统明确回答。深刻认识“五大原则”,对于准确理解和把握中国式现代化的丰富内涵、核心要义和实践要求,不断夺取全面建设社会主义现代化国家新胜利,具有十分重要的意义。

It is pointed out in the report of the Twentieth National Congress of the Communist Party of China that the promotion of Chinese-style modernization and the construction of a socialist modernized country lies in five major principles:upholding and strengthening the party’s overall leadership,adhering to the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics,adhering to the people-centered development thought,persistence in deepening reform and opening-up,and persistence in carrying forward the spirit of struggle.These five principles provide systematic and explicit answers to the basic questions of Chinese-style modernization,such as who will lead,what path to take,what position to stick to,where does the vitality come from,and what kind of spirit to maintain.A deep understanding of the five principles is of great significance for accurately understanding and grasping the rich connotation,core,and practical requirements of Chinese-style modernization,and continuously striving for new victories in building a modern socialist country in an all-round way.
