The U-tube serves as a measurement method for the heeling angle in ship tilt tests and readily applies to certain types of ships.This paper highlights the form and characteristics of the U-tube and compares the U-tube with the pendulum method,concluding that the two methods apply to different types of ships.Finally,the paper analyzes the application of the U-tube and the pendulum method in the test,the problems are likely to be exposed to,and corresponding reasons based on full-scale ship tilt tests.
