“陈熙昌奏疏”所见粤澳史事钩沉

An Interpretation on the Historical Writing about Guangdong and Macao from“Chen Xichang’s Memorandum to the Emperor”

国家图书馆藏“陈熙昌奏疏”,是晚明吏科给事中陈熙昌于天启四年七月上奏、并由六科抄发的科抄原件,其正式名称为《闽艚突祸可骇蠔镜丛奸更甚愚臣久抱杞忧谬陈刍议乞敕抚按及时酌处以无误岭海一隅事》。奏疏所言之事有二:一为“闽艚突祸”,即福建白艚来粤籴米而引发的广东民变;二为“蠔镜丛奸”,即葡人居澳坐大、华人聚拢接济所造成的澳门隐忧,二者共同反映了晚明广东地区日渐严峻的粮食供应问题、早期澳门问题以及错综复杂的闽粤、粤澳关系。该件目前未见学界利用,洵为新的钩索晚明粤澳史事之重要档案资料。

"Chen Xichang's Memorandum to the Emperor",stored in the National Library,was the original copy of the memorandum to the Emperor by Cheng Xichang,an imperial overseer(Jishizhong 给事中)in the Ministry of Officials Affairs,which was submitted in July,on the 4th year of Tianqi during the Ming Dynasty.The memorandum documented two events.First,a rebellion that broke out in Guangdong when ships from Fujian came to purchase rice.Second,worries over food supplies in Macao were triggered by an assembly of Chinese people assisting each other and an increasing number of Portuguese settlers arriving.The two events demonstrated the food supply problem in the region of Guangdong in the later Ming Dynasty,the Macao problem in the early times,and the complex problem about the relationship between Fujian and Guangdong,as well as the relationship between Guangdong and Macao.This document has never been utilized in academia;therefore,it is a significant source to establish a new interpretation about the writing of the history concerning Guangdong and Macao in the later Ming Dynasty.
